New 1000 X-Series Oscilloscopes and the Return of Wave Giveaway!

Today is a very exciting day! Not only are we announcing two new 1000 X-Series oscilloscopes, but I am also happy to say that Wave is back for 2019.

We will be giving away some of the new oscilloscopes (along with other bench test gear) during the Wave 2019 online event from March 1 through March 15. You can find more details about Wave and the other instruments we will be giving away toward the end of this blog, but first things first: the new 1000 X-Series models.

The new 4-channel, 200 MHz InfiniiVision 1000 X-Series models help you get measurements you can count on so you can create designs that will change the future. The DSOX1204A and DSOX1204G oscilloscopes leverage the same, proven technology we use in our higher-end InfiniiVision family, giving you professional-level measurements you can trust. Now you can get even more functionality from the 1000 X-Series with capabilities like 4-wire SPI decode and remote connection via LAN.

“Entry level” does not have to mean poor quality and performance. Just because you are on a budget, you shouldn’t have to settle for lesser technology. With industry-leading software analysis and high-end hardware technology, you can measure with a high degree of accuracy at an affordable price. The advanced capabilities like fast Fourier transforms, mask testing, and segmented memory, help quickly analyze and determine signal parameters.

You can have confidence in your measurements knowing you are testing on Keysight-custom technology. The MegaZoom IV ASIC allows for a consistent 50,000 waveforms/second update rate and the highest-sample rate in this class at 2 GSa/s. This means you have a higher chance of catching rare glitches or errors that might not be seen on a similarly priced instrument from another oscilloscope vendor.

The 6-in-1 instrument integration in the 1000 X-Series lets you test more efficiently with twice as many built-in instruments compared to the other entry-level options out there. Not only are you getting all the benefits of a high-quality oscilloscope, you’ll also have:

  • Integrated 20 MHz function generator
  • Frequency response analyzer that performs Bode plotting
  • 3-digit frequency counter
  • Patented 3-digit voltmeter
  • Protocol analyzer

Upgrading your 1000 X-Series oscilloscope is easy. You can enable the serial decoding options and install bandwidth upgrades at any time by purchasing the software license key. These two new models (DSOX1204A and DSOX1204G) can be upgraded from 70 MHz of bandwidth to 100 MHz or 200 MHz. This way you can purchase the bandwidth you need now, and upgrade as your designs evolve in the future. 

Learn how to use the advanced capabilities faster with a simple, intuitive user-interface and access to built-in help and training signals:

  • User interface: The UI is the same across the entire InfiniiVision family, making it easier to transfer your knowledge from one oscilloscope to another.
  • Built-in help: Press and hold any front panel key or menu option for about 3 seconds, and a text box will pop up on the screen, explaining what that capability is, why it might be used, and sometimes even helpful setup tips.
  • Training signals: 17 signals are preloaded into every 1000 X-Series oscilloscope. These signals can be used to learn about the different instrument capabilities and functions, getting students and beginners up to speed even faster. The signals can be used in conjunction with the free educators training guide, which walks through different labs on how to use key oscilloscope functions.

And lastly, the standard LAN connectivity lets multiple engineers work on one instrument by connecting to the network via LAN and accessing an internet browser for remote control. This allows students and coworkers to share equipment and work on projects from anywhere, saving time and money.

Every weekday March 1 - March 15, we will be drawing winners for prizes, and of course we will be returning with more measurement tips so you can learn how to better use all of these instruments. You can enter the giveaway drawing once per day March 1 through March 15, but starting January 8, 2019, you can register for one early entry as well.

The daily entries continue to build on top of each other. You do not have to enter every day to be eligible to win that day’s drawing. Say that you only enter your name today.
